I’m a journalist by profession a cook by avocation and curious about way too many things to list especially cultures other than my own. That’s why most of my life I have sojourned through the world gathering string and stories of people and their sometimes simple and heartfelt lives. Such travels lead me to meet exceptional people like Lisa with whom I traveled 2500 miles through the Tibetan Highlands in the Kham, eating raw yak and starchy noodles with numbing spices and being in places where wearing shoes in the shower would be preferable. Of particular interest is knowing where my food comes from, the health of the planet and its soil and ice. Currently I work as reporter covering the environment north of San Francisco.

Hi Drea,
Great Picture, good to see your smiling face! Saw the video of your trip to Tibet…amazing! I would love to go there and do that kind of volunteer work. My 16 year old daughter just got back from volunteering in Ecuador and wants to go back soon. I hope to go with her as a volunteer nurse and teacher. Its been 25 years, we should catch up.

Andrea, I don’t know if you remember me but I have been looking for you since we last met after our reunion in SF after our stay outside of Florence. The trip I took with you was one of the most memorable of all my travels and it was because of your personal touches. Are you still traveling since you completed your studies? Are you putting together any trips? I am interested in Southern Italy.
How has your life unfolded? Any lovelife? Sounds like you are back in SF after NYC. I returned from China on Wed. and will be taking my daughter and her family to London and Paris in June.
Do you ever come to Sacto to visit? I would love to take you to coffee if you are interested. Call me (916/452-0887) or email me.
Take care, Gloria
